33 Weeks 2 Days

I'm definitely sad to say that Christmas is over, but boy am I happy to have my house put back together!  We had a great time down here in NC with my dad (although we missed everyone back at home).  I had to work on Christmas day, but we still managed to have a nice dinner (with cookies for desert), get some Skype time in and sit by a fire (yes it was that warm here!).  This mama definitely ate one too many cookies over the holidays!  I still have a freezer full of cookies too ... maybe I should scale down next year :)

This week Cade is the size of a durian (which apparently is a stinky fruit from Asia).  He's weighing anywhere from 4.2 to 5.8 pounds and measuring as long as 18.7 inches.  This week his bones are hardening and his working on his sucking and swallowing skills.  His brain also continues to develop to prepare him for the outside world.

Here's some pictures from Christmas day. Pacer couldn't care less about the festivities whereas Stryker and Pop Tart had to be a part of everything that was going on :)  In the bottom picture they are both eagerly waiting for me to share my jelly bellies with them (I did of course)!

Hope everyone's holidays were just as enjoyable :)

32 Weeks 4 days

Merry Christmas Y'all (yes I know .. I'm a couple of days early)!  The Worthington household is definitely prepared for the holidays ... all the shopping is done, presents are wrapped and cookies are made (of course that's the most important part right now!).  Now if only all of our family could be down here with us to celebrate :)

This week Cade seems to be growing like a weed.  He's the size of squash this week, weighing anywhere from 2.5 to 3.8 pounds and growing as long as 16.7 inches.  He has been quite active these past few days, definitely letting me know that he's running out of space!  Heartburn has reared its ugly head this week and I keep popping Tums like they're going out of style ... maybe Santa will bring some for Christmas :)
We put the finishing touches on his room this weekend .. we added a shelf so we could put some pictures and the piggy bank up there.

We also had a 3D ultrasound done on Friday - this was by far one of the coolest things we've gotten to see this far (technology is amazing)!  A big thanks to Willowdean @ My Womb with a View for Capturing all of these great shots :)  We got to see his eyes open and his little tongue stick out.  He also really wanted us to know that he was a BOY for sure ... he started off with both legs close to his head showing off his boy parts! (he'll hate me later for those pictures, but I find them cute right now)  At the end he decided that he'd had enough and kept putting his hand in front of his face!

31 Weeks 3 Days
31 weeks and going strong (only 60 days to go)!  Only 10 days to Christmas too!  I'll be sad once Christmas is over and I won't get to decorate the board as festively anymore :(

This week Cade is as big as a pineapple.  He can be anywhere from 15.2 to 16.7 inches long and weigh between 2.5 and 3.8 pounds.  This week he's undergoing major brain and nerve development.  His eyes now react to light and all 5 senses are in working order!  He's definitely getting prepared to make his debut :)

I finally started to feel better this week, so I got lots of baking done and preparing for the little man's arrival.  We have the room organized and I was able to wash all his clothes (up to about 3 months).  We also got our rocker in (YAY!) and it is so soft and comfortable ... I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time here.
Again, notice the little brat trying to get into the toys.

I was finally able to add some of the pictures from the shower (thanks Aunt Molly for capturing all of the special moments!).  Here's a preview of some of the pictures - thank you again to all of our family and friends who made it out and spoiled Cade :)  We appreciate you all so much!

30 Weeks 3 Days
I can't believe we're at 30 weeks already!  Only 10 more to go until the little man arrives :)  Sorry for the PJ pic, but I've been ordered to rest all weekend in hopes to get over whatever has gotten me down!

This week Cade is apparently as big as a cucumber (I'm guessing a really big cucumber?!).  He is measuring about 15.7" and weighs about 3 pounds.  This week Cade's skin is getting smoother and his brain is getting wrinklier.  He's even strong enough to grasp a finger!
His room is an absolute disaster now!  We've been trying to put everything together, but we seem to be running out of room very quickly.  I'm going to have to go into organization mode really soon!  We're super excited because our rocker arrives Tuesday - hooray :)  I ordered it back in October, so it seems like it's taking forever to get here!  Pictures to come once it arrives.  Hopefully I'll have pictures up of the shower soon (thanks Aunt Molly for all the wonderful shots!).

On another side note, we have a little stinker to deal with.  He apparently thinks that these are all of HIS toys.  I caught him today with a rubber ducky in his mouth!  Who can blame him though ... all of the baby toys look, feel and sound just like his toys!

29 Weeks 3 Days

Happy December everyone :)  We're super excited to get the holidays rolling around the Worthington house (as you'll see from the pictures below)!

This week Cade is the size of an acorn squash.  He is approximately 2.5 to 3.8 pounds and can be as long as 16.7 inches.  It's getting kind of cramped in there for him and this mamma is definitely feeling all the little man's moves :)  You can actually feel his limbs now when he's moving around (not sure which ones though)!

We were finally able to get our tree decorated today.  We downsized to a smaller tree this year seeing how last years was a pain in the rear end getting out once Christmas was over!

All of our other children were preparing for the holidays too :)  I think Pop Tart looks to be the only one who is content wearing his Santa hat.  The other two just tolerate their crazy parents and the things we do to them!

28 Weeks

We've finally reached the 3rd trimester!  Time has just been flying by.  Cade is about the size of an eggplant this week (and a very large eggplant if I might add).  He can weigh anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 lbs and be as long as 14.8 inches.  Cade can now open his eyes and his lungs are maturing.  He's also packing on the fat so he'll look more like a little baby instead of a wrinkly old man when he comes out :P

We're super excited to make the trek home tomorrow for the holidays!  I can't wait to see everyone at the shower on Saturday :)  Cade is definitely going to feel a lot of love!

This week's projects included lots of artwork for Cade's room.  It was all very easy and I think it turned out great!  We just need to get some shelves now to put all the cute little decorations on.

27 Weeks 1 Day

Happy 27 Weeks!  This is the last week in our second trimester and we now have 90 days to go until our due date!  We have officially decided on a name this week - as the board indicated we have chosen Cade (middle name is still under discussion, but will more than likely be Robert).  We're trying to get used to calling him by his name instead of all the other nicknames we have devised :)

This week Cade is the size of a rutabaga (which in case you were wondering is a cross between a cabbage and a turnip).  He can weigh up to 2.5 pounds and is approximately 14.8 inches long.  He's starting to show brain activity this week and is still practicing inhaling and exhaling!  He's an active little bugger too - it's such an awesome feeling when he starts squirming around in there :)

Here's a picture of our ikea bookshelf turned changing table (the frame and canvas will be up on the wall).  Now I'm deciding whether or not we should paint it - unfortunately Ikea's idea of white and our idea of white are not the same :(

I was busy sewing again this week ... I made another blanket for him (this one is much smaller than the first one) and 12 burp cloths.  Whew ... it was exhausting!  I've also been trying to make Christmas cookies in my spare time to prepare for the holidays!  They're going to be here before we know it.  I can't believe that we'll be home in a week to celebrate Thanksgiving and our shower!  Time is sure flying by :)  We're looking forward to seeing everyone in a week!

26 weeks 4 days

We're down to double digits now until Baby W's arrival (94 days to be exact, but who's counting)!  This week baby is the size of a head of lettuce - although he looks and feels like a basketball :O

The baby can be anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 pounds now and up to 14.8 inches in length.  His eyes are forming and will soon start opening.  Eyelashes are now fully formed as well.  He's also practicing his breathing skills (even though there's no air to take in yet)!

I'm still feeling great.  I was bad about answering previous comments, but my sleep is still really good (knock on wood) and I still can get around and exercise like normal (even though it may take a little more out of me)!  The only issue that I've run into so far is a little bit of back trouble, but I'm sure it's from standing for 8+ hours a day and all the weight being in front of me :)

I had to take a picture of the adorable car seat - I'm in LOVE with it!  I also have to give a big thanks to Aunt Molly, Uncle Kevin, Uncle Joe and Grandma for this and the other car seat accessories.  Silly Amazon didn't do a good job at listing everyone that was so generous!  Can't wait to see the little one in this!

I was busy last week with some sewing projects - I made Baby W his first baby blanket - it's not perfect, but I think it turned out pretty good for my first try :)  I sure hope he loves it as much as me!

We were lucky to get away this weekend to Asheville.  We went on an awesome hike Saturday morning @ the NC Arboretum and then spent the afternoon walking around shopping.  We had such a fun time and it was nice to get away for a few days!  Asheville is a great place for vegans/vegetarians - they had so many food options for us, it was fantastic!  We also found this cute children's book about being vegetarian which will hopefully help Baby W understand the choices that we've made :)

25 Weeks

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!  Today marks 25 weeks and I thought it only appropriate to do an update today :)  I just love Halloween (this probably has something to do with all the candy that's out there)!  I can't wait until next year until Baby W gets dressed up ... what fun costumes will we come up with!?

Baby W is the size of a cauliflower this week!  He is approximately 13.5" and weighs a whopping 1.5 pounds!  He's continuing to put on some fat to fill out his little wrinkles and make himself look more like a newborn.

24 Weeks 5 days

Baby W is now the size of a cantaloupe!  He weighs anywhere between 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and is ranging from 10.5 to 11.8 inches.  His see-through skin is now becoming more opaque and he has a nice pink glow thanks to newly formed capillaries.  He has been a very active little bean this week! We went to see the Olympic gymnasts in Charlotte on Friday and he was a moving and a grooving throughout the entire show (not to mention the entire day too)!

We got a lot done with his room today.  We put together his soon to be changing table (a great Ikea find) - pictures to come next week!  I also got some clothes washed and the room put together the best we can right now :)  We also got our first registry gift this week ... EEK!  It was our car seats + base + seat covers from Aunt Patty :)  Everything's starting to come together quite nicely!

Oatmeal also received a gift this week - Grandma and Grandpa W bought this Yankee outfit for the little pup ... isn't he adorable?!  (Thank you Aunt Amber and Uncle Kent for bringing it down to us!)

And I couldn't leave this out ... Aunt Amber bought him this awesome outfit so they can rock out together :)

23 weeks 3 days

We're now counting down the weeks until the 3rd trimester ... only 4 more to go!  Baby W is now the size of a grapefruit weighing between 12.7-20.8 ounces and growing the lengths between 10.5 and 11.8 inches.  Baby's face is now fully formed, we're just waiting for him to fatten up so he gets a little cuter :)

As for me, I'm still feeling great!  We've made 2 trips to the fair so I could eat my way through it - thank goodness for my awesome husband (he won't eat a thing there ... talk about willpower!).  Baby W got his first taste of fried oreos, french fries, fried girl scout cookies (carmel delights) and funnel cake.  Thank goodness it only comes once a year or else I would have some serious issues!

Just had to sneak in this adorable picture of my two snugglers ... they typically don't snuggle with each other so to catch them in action was just priceless :)

We got these awesome bibs from a friend of mine (also a co-worker who is leaving me and moving to Syracuse :( <-- if I could make this look any sadder, I would!).  She cross-stitched these and they turned out too stinking cute.  The elephant even has a little tail made of thread!
