House Update

Our house is finally starting to look like a house … HOORAY!  We passed our electrical and plumbing inspections, now we are just waiting on the framing inspection, which was supposed to happen Monday, but it looks like no one has been out yet :(  After framing, we can move on to insulating, then drywall, then all the fun stuff.  It looks like we are still on schedule to be in by November (our original goal was Thanksgiving, hopefully this will stand).

I can't wait until we get a little further in the process and we actually have walls/cabinets/lights/etc.  But if there's one thing I've learned from building, it's always to have patience.  There are always tons and tons of bumps along the way that cause delays, so we just have to learn to deal :)  We're going for more of an industrial/rustic/modern look on the inside with a very traditional outside.  It's going to be so exciting to see how everything comes together seeing how the description is crazy already!

Maternity Pictures

Better late than never I guess!  I had every intention of posting these wonderful pictures done by the AMAZING Traci Huffman Photography as soon as we got them back, but of course life got in the way!  Anyone living in the Raleigh area definitely needs to check her out if you ever need any type of photography done.  She is so incredibly talented and easy to work with.  She has done SO many pictures for us and will continue to be a part of our lives capturing all of those special moments.  She did our delivery again as well as our newborn shoot on Sunday, so stay tuned for more pictures to come of this tiny little addition :)

Thank you Traci for capturing such special moments for our family.  We you more than you know and are forever grateful for the memories we have because of you!

❤ Introducing Paxton Owen ❤

Our little Paxton Owen (aka Ultimate Warrior) arrived on August 7, 2014 @621pm weighing in at 7lbs, 13oz and 20.25".  He currently has light eyes (looking like they might turn blue).  I was induced based on my choice (we had already planned on inducing August 12th).  I was ready to meet the little one and really getting scared about how big he or she might have gotten had we waited any longer!  This labor and delivery was a MILLION times better than Cade's (you can ready all about that HERE).  We got to the hospital bright and early at 6am, filled out some paperwork, then went into our room.  I got poked, prodded and hooked up to all the monitors and we waited for my doctor to come in.  After she checked me, we started pitocin around 9am.  Epidural was in by 11:30 and by noon, my water had broke on its own.  The next few hours we just relaxed (YES, relaxed!) and waited for everything to take it's course.  I still had part of my amniotic sac that didn't rupture, so the doctor cam in around 5 to do that.  After that, we rested again and shortly after that we had a beautiful baby boy!  After 2 pushes, he was out and screaming his lungs out :)  It was truly the easiest labor ever and everyone seemed to be joking that I just giggled the baby right out.  We are so incredibly lucky and blessed to have a healthy, happy baby to add to the Worthington gang.

I think I was still in denial that we had another little boy that it took us forever to come up with a name for this little guy.  Nothing that we had picked out seemed right, so back to the drawing board we went.  I cannot remember how we came up with Paxton, but we did and we love it and it fits him perfectly!  He is a content little baby just like his brother, although he LOVES to eat and eat and eat and eat.  We had no troubles breastfeeding and this kid is a champ.  He was discharged at 7lbs 6oz, but was already back up to 7lbs 9oz at his 4 day visit (little chunker) which is unusual because they tend to still lose a little weight at that point.

For me, the second child has been much easier.  I think I'm more relaxed and laid back than I was with Cade.  Not to mention how easy it is to feed him, I just doze off when he eats at night, wake up and put him back down.  I feel much more rested even chasing around a toddler!  The only part has been not picking up Cade (not going to lie, I've had to pick him up several times).  I have to wait 2 weeks to pick up anything heavier than 10lbs so my body can heal.  Thank goodness I've had lots of help from friends and family, so Cade is being taken care of very well :)  It's just hard when he cries out for Mama and I feel like there's nothing I can do :(  Only one more week though and I should be good to go!

Cade has been an absolutely amazing big brother.  I think I had played out every worst case scenario in my mind about how things could go, maybe to just prepare myself for the worst?!  He adores his little brother and always wants to kiss him, love him, snuggle him, be with him.  He is always very concerned of where the baby is especially after he wakes up from his naps.  I tend to wear Paxton in a wrap a lot around the house and he always points to my chest looking for him when he's not with him.  Hopefully the protective big brother will always be there for this little guy.  The love that Cade has for his brother just melts my heart.

Our world feels so complete now with our two little men (although mama is severely outnumbered)!  We are so excited to see what the future has in store for us and to watch these two little guys grow up (although not too fast)!

39 Weeks

39 Weeks ... Oh My!  This is officially my last post as a pregnant mama.  We go in tomorrow morning for an induction!  Such a bittersweet feeling as I love being pregnant and will be sad once my belly is gone, but we are also so excited to meet the newest little addition to our family!  Here's to hoping that everything goes smoothly and quickly tomorrow :). Stay tuned for lots and lots of baby pictures!

38 Weeks

Baby Size: 18.9" to 20.9 " and 6.2 to 9.2 lbs (about the size of a pumpkin)
Fun Facts: Baby may have up to an inch of hair on his/her head (if the wives tale is true about heartburn and hair, then this baby should come out with a full head of hear too!).  Also shedding the white "goo" on the skin as we prepare for birth!
How far along: 38 Weeks (T-9 days)
Gender: Unknown to Mama and everyone else (based on every ones predictions, it looks like pink might be in our future!)
Weight gain: We're just going to say 30+ at this point!
Maternity clothes: All maternity now - there's no turning back!
Stretch Marks: No
Belly button in or out: Definitely out, sometimes I think it might burst :O
Sleep: OK, just lots and lots of tossing and turning!
Best moment this week: Movie date with the hubby!
Miss anything: Not really
Movement: TONS, lots and lots of jabs and kicks and punches
Cravings: CHOCOLATE, also a cake with whipped cream frosting (hint, hint Jason)
Queasy or sick: Just this dang heartburn trying to take over :(
Looking forward to: Baby's arrival .. the anticipation is killing me this time around!!  I can't wait to meet this little peanut.

At the last appointment, I was 50% effaced and about 2cm dilated.  Lots of Braxton Hicks contractions going on, but not amounting to anything real!  I think we have a comfortable, content baby this time around who is in no hurry to make his/her debut :)

This little guy is all set and ready to go as his new role approaches.  He's got his outfit planned and his hair cut, so as far as he's concerned, this baby can come anytime now :)
