Birthday Shenanigans!

So I am obviously failing miserably at putting an update on at least once a week :(  I guess everyone just needs to be prepared for a ton of pictures all at once!  We celebrated my birthday last Thursday (last one in my twenties - uh oh!).  We had a beautiful day to celebrate the occasion - sunny and almost 80.  We kept it low key this year and spent some time at the mall then came home and ate devoured the yummy cake with a TON of whipped cream frosting - the fat girl inside me was just dying!!

Cade has been doing great lately.  We're finally starting to get a good nighttime routine down.  He gets his bath and goes down around 8 or 9.  He's typically been sleeping until 3 or 4 which has been fabulous!  Then like clockwork, he's up between 6 and 7 ready to start his day.  Days always start with tons of big smiles which just melts our hearts :)

B-Rob came to town to do the mud run and got some quality time with the little man!

Grandma and Grandpa Worthington came to visit at the beginning of April.  The boys watched Wrestle Mania on Sunday night and Cade got to wear his first wrestling outfit (somehow I managed to not snap of picture of him).  I think Stryker and Pop Tart were the most excited to see their grandparents - Pop Tart moped around for days after they left :(

I'm going to try really hard to post more frequently ... Daddy just completed a mud run on Saturday so I'll post some of the pictures from that.  I realized too that I still haven't shared the pictures from Cade's birth, so I'll get on that too :)  Look for more to come this weekend!  Happy Hump Day to ya'll!

TWO Month Update

Cade has his two month check up with Dr. Smith yesterday and it went great (other than the shots that the poor little man had to get).  He's definitely on the smaller side, but I'm sure he'll start to fill out :) Here's some stats from his most recent visit:

Height: 21.75 inches / 7th percentile
Weight: 10 lbs on the dot / 8th percentile
Head: 14.75 inches / 11th percentile

He got a total of 6 vaccines today - 3 shots (Hep B, DTap, IPV, HIB, and PCV13) and 1 oral.  He chugged the Rotavirus vaccine down like a champ and did well with his first shot.  Then reality sunk in once he realized what was happening and the water works started!  His nurse was fantastic though and worked quickly and efficiently so it was over before we knew it.  On the bright side, he did get 2 Charlie Brown band-aids for his battle wounds!

We hope everyone is doing well and preparing for the weekend.  It's finally starting to warm up here and I'm sure warmer weather is in store for ya'll :)  Our blueberry bushes are in bloom and hopefully next weekend we will get to plant the garden!

Happy Easter / 2 Months

Where is the world has the time gone?!  I apologize for not posting last week, but things have been crazy around here.  My last two weeks have been spent trying to adjust to going back to work and getting into some sort of routine with the little man.  Going back to work was by far much easier than trying to get him in a routine (my crazy work schedule probably doesn't help much)!  My first two weeks back at work were awesome (aside from missing Cade like crazy).  I have such an amazing staff who made my transition back seamless .. not to mention that they held down the fort so well when I was gone!  Goodies are definitely in order for all of them once I figure out how to make some time to get it done :)

We had a busy weekend here.  We took Cade to the aquarium on Friday and he went to the Walgreens Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday as well as on a shopping trip with Mommy.  Easter was on Sunday and mommy and daddy had more fun with Cade's Easter baskets than he probably did!  We also took the opportunity to do his 2 month photo shoot - you'll see in the pictures below how much he has grown!  He was definitely being a little ham for the camera this afternoon (and for once it wasn't gas)!  We hope that you guys all enjoyed your Easter :)  Here's to hoping that I can post again sooner rather than later!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I hope everyone is enjoying their St. Patty's Day Celebrations. Cade celebrated his first St. Patty's today :)  We were all decked out in green to enjoy our day.  Next year will be full of celebrating with lots of green goodies!  For now, mommy made a healthy, vegan "Shamrock Shake."  It was quite delicious if you ask me, but definitely not the same as the real thing.  For all those interested in trying, you can find the recipe here.

Mommy has to head back to work tomorrow :(  I have no doubt that it will be one of the toughest days (or should I say weeks??) for me to get through, but we can do it!  It's such a comfort to know that Daddy will be here with him so we won't have to worry about someone else looking after him.  I have lots of pictures to keep with me at work and I'm sure Daddy will text me lots more throughout the day to keep me going!

The lovely Traci stopped by today and dropped off Cade's pictures from his newborn shoot!  We are so happy with the way the pictures turned out and so thankful for a wonderful photographer :)  Enjoy the slideshow!

We also had a wonderful visit from Papa Jon, Aunt Patty and GG (we just wished Aunt Molly could have been here too)!  Cade went out to eat twice and we took him to see the Easter Bunny.  He was such a well behaved little man - makes me a proud mommy!  I now officially have all the malls scoped out with places to breastfeed (Nordstrom has a wonderful lounge in the ladies room for all you breastfeeding mommies out there), so it makes our outings a little easier and less stressful.

Happy One Month!!

Time has been flying!  I can't believe that our little baby boy is already a month old ... I guess that's the way things are going to go around here - FAST!  The little one has been growing like a champ - we still continue to eat, poop and sleep with a little playtime thrown in there :)  We still don't have a schedule down yet, but we are working hard on that - we have good nights and bad nights, but I'm sure we will get the hang of this sleeping through the night thing. On a side note, mommy is getting used to running on little sleep, but I'm not sure how long that will last!

Of course we had to celebrate Cade turning one month, so I baked some healthy vegan cupcakes.  Who doesn't love a reason to celebrate!?  Now it's Cade's turn in front of the chalkboard - here he is showing off how big he's getting :)
