Our Christmas

Happy 2015 y'all!  We hope everyone had the most merry Christmas and a happy start to 2015.  Christmas was extra special for us this year because Cade is finally beginning to understand it a little bit.  We unfortunately did not make it to see Santa, but there's always next year!  Cade definitely recognized who "Ho Ho Ho" was, but I'm sure it would have turned into a total meltdown when we took him to see the big guy.  We spent Christmas Eve making food and spending some family time together.  Cade & Pax opened a couple of gifts before bed that included their adorable matching bulldog PJs.

Christmas day was pretty low key.  I made a delicious eggnog french toast bake (recipe found HERE). Cade randomly opened presents throughout the day.  He was so excited by each gift and of course immediately wanted to play with each and every toy he opened.  Pax obviously had no clue what was going on, but LOVED playing eating the wrapping paper.

We keep gifts to a minimum and try to have everyone make contributions to their 529 plans in hopes that college will be pretty much taken care of for them.  We also want to teach them the true meaning of Christmas and that it's not about toys and presents and getting tons of things.  We hope to instill in them the importance of giving and being around family and friends and cherishing those memories instead of materialistic things.  We are trying our best to raise two little appreciative, respectful dudes.  We made a yummy dinner later that night, then friends of ours came to hang out in the evening and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.  I can't imagine what next year will bring with 2 toddlers in the house :)

Cheers to a Happy 2015!!!
