Half Year Mark

Half a year, six months, twenty-six weeks. Oh.my.goodness.  How is it possible that this child is this old already?  Nobody ever tells you how quickly the time flies by with a little one - just a year ago we were 12 weeks pregnant and making the announcement (which took some a while to figure out, I won't name names!) to some of our family.  Look at this adorable little face now, I absolutely cannot get enough of him :)

We had our six month checkup on Friday and it went really well.  Our little chunky monkey's stats look like this:
  • Height: 25.25" (6th percentile)
  • Weight: 16lbs 7.4oz (31st percentile)
  • Head: 16.6" (19th percentile)
He had another round of shots and I tell you that this boy is becoming a champ.  He took the first injection without a tear, but got a little angry with the second injection (and who would blame him, it looked painful)!  He did really well today despite having 2 big welts on each leg .. he was still as happy go lucky as ever.

He still loves playing with his blocks and is completely obsessed with all the animals.  He grabs them at any chance he gets (despite mama and daddy having a heart attack when he grabs the dogs - we all know what those bites feel like).  Shortbread is the one who tolerates him the most, letting him pet grab her and pull her wherever he can.  He absolutely loves bath time. He can be fussy, cranky and miserable, but you put him in the bath and he's as happy as ever.  He's also discovered that he has man parts and loves to play with his junk already (typically man, I suppose).  He's still wearing out the springs in his jumparoo (his feet aren't reaching the floor yet) and loving life in general.

We haven't started pureed food yet :(  The doctor thinks that he's doing great with breast milk and doesn't see a need for real food yet because he's still getting all he needs from the milk.  I will admit I was kinda really bummed out about that because I was ready to go after the appointment.  We will see how things go and who knows, we may be starting it soon just to change things up a bit!

Enjoy the last few pictures of one of his favorite times of day - BATH TIME!

Guard Dog (he's really crying for me to let him in and play with the water)

Everyone loves to eat clean toes, right?
